Vitamin D improves Tension Headaches

A new article was just published in the medical journal called HEADACHE.

The study reported on eight patients with chronic tension type headaches and who also had vitamin D deficiency to the point of osteomalacia. As you will remember from my book, osteomalacia is adult rickets. All of the patients in the study did not respond well to the conventional therapy for tension headaches.

However, all eight of the patients responded to vitamin D and calcium supplements with significant improvement in their headaches. In addition over an additional period of time the symptoms of the patients’ osteomalcia improved.

My readers will remember from my book ,that my vitamin D was so low that I had osteomalcia in my neck producing chronic neck pain which completely went away when I replaced my vitamin D.

If you have friends who have headaches, especially tension headaches be sure that they get their vitamin D levels checked and optimized.

Funny, I’ve had chronic tension headaches for over 10 years. Lately found out I had low Vitamin D. Was given 50,000 units of Vit. D for 6-8 weeks with no problems. And now was put on 1000 units a day. What happened? My tension headaches have been back 24/7 since that day! Any explanation would be helpful.
